NYT of Jan 29, 1915 query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9B04E2DA1538E633A... indicates that these three were in town to give testimony to the "Walsh Commission" on Industrial Relations. They also met with John D. Rockefeller Jr. Frank J. Hayes, Edward L. Doyle, and James Lord. Lord was head of the mining department of the American Federation of Labor.
