Wow, sweet picture! I hate myself for liking it.

this reminds me of sahauro cactus in southern Arizona, and of the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument _ even if it IS an odd association to make.

Why hate yourself? "Ugly" things can make good compositions. As an image, it is about the lines and forms interacting visually. "Smoke stacks" were a sign of progress from the 19th century well into the 20th century. If the clouds are mostly white, it is probably steam and not pollution, although if you are worried about global warming, non-nuclear power plants may be a concern. Great association with the saguaro. Not odd at all, since the stacks resemble the cactus...a solid observation seeing the photograph as more than just a document but as a creative work.

Wow! This is how the other developing countries learn how to pollute the environment which you (the developed) have done long back.

It is interesting how some people point fingers at others to make their own plight seem more acceptable. That, is truly ignorant.

And if visionary and inventive people in our country hadn't developed ways to use our resources when they did, you that criticize with your sound bites would have been complaining about something else.

Is this american way of fife?

I see stuff like this still today where I am from. This is still a way of life.
