I saw this picture at the Pain`s exposition in Berlin last summer. really interesting :)

The lower photograph is a part of the photograph showing Dr Gillaume Benjamin Amand Duchenne (1806 - 1875) and his assistant performing their 'Faradism' experiment on a live subject. This is so classic! I remember seeing those photos for the first time -- I was staring in awe and thinking this was too strange to be true. And it was true. It's in the photos! I guess that was one of the first times when I really understood the power of photography. :) (Take what I wrote with a small wink, please. There is some truth to it, though.)

Great photo,(and a lovely bicycle too). Looks like a team with players from all walks of life.

Something odd about the bicycle - the chainring and chain are on the 'wrong' side. At first I thought the photo was the wrong way round, but the buttons on the shirts etc are OK so it must be the bike which is unusual. From oldbike.wordpress.com/1893-safety-bicycle/ Early safeties featured either left-hand or right-hand chains. There was no particular advantage to mounting it on either side. But, with the 1890s boom in bicycle sales, the industry had to standardize cycle components. By 1895, right-hand chains had become the standard. Almost unheard of nowadays, but it is possible to do it if you want to be weird different sheldonbrown.org/gunnar/

Looking at the ears, I would say the fellow on the left with the stripey jacket is Sir Richard. Talking of ears, there is a marvellous pair on one of the gentleman standing.
