This series of 23 European pictures were probably taken by George Grantham Bain on his European trip between March and June, 1910. The subjects match up generally with a description of the trip in the June 25, 1910 edition of Editor and Publisher Magazine: "RETURNED WITH ROOSEVELT George Grantham Bain Back After Extensive European Trip George Grantham Bain was on the bridge of the Kaiserin Auguste Victoria with Theodore Roosevelt when that ship arrived at Quarantine, New York. Mr Bain ended a trip not so varied and interesting as Mr Roosevelt's, but full of experience and profit. Sailing from New York March 19 Mr Bain arrived in Naples in time to greet Mr Roosevelt and journey to Rome on his train. After the Rome experience, which was full of interest, Mr Bain went to Florence, Monte Carlo and Toulon, being the guest at the last named city of F.M. Mansfield ("Francis Miltoun"), the well known writer. Mr Mansfield is American Consul at Toulon. After motoring to Hyroes, Cassis, Marseilles and Martigues, Mr Bain went to Paris in time for the reception to Mr Roosevelt at the Elysee Palace. From Paris he went with Mr Roosevelt to Brussels, The Hague, Copenhagen, Christiania, Berlin, London and Cambridge. Mr Bain sent back fourteen letters and more than a hundred photographs illustrating Theodore's Adventures in Wonderland to the Cincinnati Times Star, Louisville Courier Journal, Chicago Record Herald, Portland Oregonian, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Indianapolis Star and other papers. During his absence the Daily Illustrated News Service was in charge of H.W. Sierichs." books.google.com/books?id=7yVDAQAAMAAJ&pg=PA121&l...

LOC has 6 other photos that are also very likely from the set G.G. Bain took while reporting on Roosevelt's trip. These were apparently obtained by LOC as photos, not negatives, and filed in a presidential file for TR called "PRES FILE - Roosevelt, Theodore--In Europe 1910" They are: www.loc.gov/pictures/search/?q=PRES%20FILE%20-%20Roosevel... Another photo, "Decorations for T. Roosevelt at Brussels", is not in that folder, but seems to be part of the 1910 Bain TR in Europe set: www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/ggbain/item/2010645535/

The first electric tram to operate in The Hague. The picture was taken at railway station Staatsspoor, now called Den Haag Centraal (The Hague Central) and totally different.
This tram model was first introduced in 1904 and stayed in service for more than 30 years, after which some of them were sold to Poland.
Line 4 went through the Binnenhof (Inner Court) to Loosduinse Brug. Below is a picture of the tram lines through the Binnenhof. The trams had a low roof in order to pass through the gates.

Thanks for the additional information. Do you have any information on the No. 4 streetcar line, or streetcar No. 1?
