The Coliseum was located on Wabash Avenue between 14th and 16th Streets. It was the second Coliseum, and was built by Charles Gunther (candy factory owner) in 1899. Gunther had an entire Civil War prison (Libby Prison) dismantled and shipped by railroad car to Chicago to build the Coliseum. Today there is a park on the corner of Wabash and 14th called "Coliseum Park". The slabs in the park are parts of the original structure.

Alton Brooks Parker (1852-1926) was temporary chairman and keynote speaker of the 1912 Democratic Party convention in Baltimore. A long-time jurist in New York, he had been the Democratic candidate for President in 1904. Wikipedia article.

Thomas Riley Marshall was nominated as vice president on July 2, 1912. He was elected along with Wilson and served as vice president from 1913 to 1921.
