Senator John Worth Kern of Indiana, Democratic nominee for Vice President in 1908. See bioguide.congress.gov/scripts/biodisplay.pl?index=k000132 Portrait looks a match. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Jennings_Bryan was the Democratic nominee for President in 1908 (and 1896 and 1900) The newspaper headline begins "Gov. Wilson" and has a picture that looks like Woodrow Wilson. My guess is that this is during the 1912 presidential campaign, perhaps at the Democratic convention.

swanq - you are right. The building behind them is Baltimore's Fifth Regiment Armory, and Senator Kern is wearing a Delegate badge on his lapel. So it's the 1912 DNC.

As pennyrichardsca indicates with the other photo, these must be the wives of three democratic leaders: Robert Crain, who was chairman of the committee that raised the guarantee fund which landed the 1912 Democratic National Convention for Baltimore. Thomas Taggart of Indiana Norman E. Mack, New York Chairman of the Democratic National Committeeman. The date on the stamp is 6/1?/12 -- which is consistent with the date of the convention.

I suspect that this was taken at the Democratic National convention of 1912, but I'll need to do more work to confirm that.
