Well this isn't much help, but was of interest to me. If you look at the background, you'll see that the statue to William Smith O'Brian isn't there; the statue in the background is Sir John Gray. The Smith O'Brian memorial was erected in 1870, but at the apex of D'Olier St and the quay. It wasn't moved to O'Connell St till 1929. The Gray memorial went up in 1879. I tagged all the Italian photochromes with their publication dates. They're mostly interpolated from two sources: - "Voyage en couleur / Farbige Reise / Travel in colour" by Arqué from 2009 (which shows photochroms from all over the world, including those by the Detroit Publishing Co.), and - "Deutschland um die Jahrhundertwende" from 1990 (which covers only German photochroms but gives publication dates by month and year) and should be taken as approximate only. Both books contain very enlightening essays by Swiss lithographer Bruno Weber and of course many beautiful photochroms. Thanks to the Library of Congress for making them available digitally!
