wonderful. I've seen a similar portrait at his house in Vailima Apia, Samoa where he is looking at the camera. perhaps there was a series of images taken at the time.

Although the digits '1885' are visible on the tail, there is evidence that the front part of the serial number has been overpainted. So this could be: Consolidated B-24M-5-CO Liberator 44-41885, which went to the RAAF as A72-147, named THERESA ANNE, served with 25 Sqn as SJ-H sold June 1950.
