Depicts "a new suburban brick and tile bungalow with paling fence. House name is Apsley. A man and child is seated on a small front veranda. The cottage was built in 1902 for 850 pounds next to the Phillips home (Exeter) in Sydney Street Willoughby. Ida Phillips, sister of the photographer, married Joe Hindwood (or Hinwood) in 1900 and lived in the cottage." – Description

From Kirribilli, looking east over Careening Cove, Neutral Bay towards Bradleys Head. The house with balcony (Southampton Cottage) still stands at the corner of Elamang Avenue and Willoughby Street, Kirribilli. See Google street view (updated) : g.co/maps/56u6q
