Charles Gilbert Gates, multimillionaire son of the legendary financier John W. ("Bet-a-Million") Gates, had gone on a hunting expedition near Cody, Wyoming, the home of Buffalo Bill Cody, in hopes of restoring his health and vigor. Soon after this photo was taken, Gates was in his private train car on a siding in Cody, celebrating his hunting prowess, when he was suddenly stricken and died. Info from "Cody Pictures" website: www.wyomingtalesandtrails.com/cody5.html----------- "Joseph Jesse Faver "Fay Jay" Hiscock (F. J. Hiscock) (1874-1951), was originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan. He remained active in photography in Cody from his arrival in 1904 until the early 1940's, and sold packages of photographs to tourists. The packages were primarily of the Cody Road. In his advertising he referred to himself as 'The Picture Man.'"
