Great capture. I wonder where the location is. Reminds me of the Pocconos in Pennsylvania... but is it actually Australia?

Hmm, looks to me like this is the same waterfall as this: www.flickr.com/photos/powerhouse_museum/2697484668. The waterfall itself looks mostly the same but the real give away are the two large rocks just to the right of the three fishermen.

The first woman on the left looks like Elisabeth Freeman. Freeman is at the center of this photo, which features the same stenciled shoulder bags:

The woman next to Elisabeth Freeman seems to be Vera Wentworth, an English suffragette.

Freeman and Wentworth are also depicted in this photo. They aren't identified in its caption but are wearing the same outfits as in the photo above. They and others in the 1913 suffrage caravan are identified on Shorpy's web page here.

I've also identified the other two, so from left to right, we have: Elisabeth Freeman, Vera Wentworth, Elsie McKenzie and Ida Craft. Wow - what a fascinating panorama!! It looks west towards Glebe, with Wattle Street in the foreground. It is a shame that this precinct was spoilt by the construction of the huge greyhound racing facility in 1932. Thankfully it is now being demolished.

SL NSW, this appears to be much earlier than 1924.

- Not a single car in any of the images.
- Gas lighting still on Wattle St.
- Still undeveloped areas of Glebe.

Sydney Lead Works appears here on Wentworth Park Rd towards the Blackwattle Bay end...it evidently started operation in 1892...so that might be an earliest date...

This shot-tower was built in 1902, for the ‘Sydney Lead Works’ and designed by the architects Messrs. H. E. Ross and Slatyer and Cosh. The completed factory included a two-story brick building with the 46 metre tall tower next to it. After the ‘Sydney Lead Works’ moved to Waterloo in 1930 the site was taken over by Pabco Products Pty. Ltd. which manufactured roof and floor coverings. The new owners no longer used the tower to make shot and instead used it for storing chemicals. This would have fateful consequences as on 8 October 1937, disaster struck. Late that morning an explosion started a fire and within five minutes it had engulfed both floors of the 2,000 square metre factory. It then spread to the shot-tower
