I love this shot, the two engines one, ready for its journey and pumping out the smoke while the other is standing there biding its time. I've been trying to locate the station on Streetview but the place has changed so much since 1959 I am struggling. I really would love to identify the two engines and establish their types and service!

Swordscookie The one on the right is an ex Tralee and Dingle Light Railway Hunslet engine brought up when that line closed in late 40's/early50's

It looks like there's a whole little story here - first the 4T engine fails. You have a 6T arriving to help followed by the 6T hauling it all away...

Oddly, this is supposedly after the line closed. This is the Cavan & Leitrim Railway as featured earlier in Ballinamore, which closed on March 31st 1959. www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland/16618218853/in/photostream/
