Three of the Officers shown are wearing the khaki serge service dress that was adopted in 1902. The closed collar was changed to an open, stepped collar with shirt and tie showing in 1913. The man on the right has black buttons and badges indicating that his unit is styled as 'Rifles' (probably the Royal Irish Rifles at that time). All the auxiliary units were brought together into the Territorial Force in 1908. It is difficult to be sure whether the photo is from before or after that event.
