Steinmetz was much in the news in March 1922. For example, an article in The Evening Star. March 03, 1922, Page 3, cols 3, 4 chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn83045462/1922-03-03/ed-... was captioned, "MODERN JUPITER HURLS THUNDERBOLTS AT WILL, Dr. Steinmetz, Electrical Wizard, Produces and Controls Indoor Lightning, Splintering Trees With 1,000,000 Horsepower Bolt."

Easily recognizable. He had no neck. But he was a really smart guy.

Though the date written on the negative is 3/4/22, the medal he is wearing is from an electrical engineering convention in Cincinnati in August, 1915.
