Where does Tammo fit in his name? It seems to be inconsistently treated in the various wikipedia entries, including de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Graf_von_Schwerin-L%C3%B6witz
He was president of the lower house of the Prussian diet or parliament, the Abgeordnetenhaus, or House of Representatives, from 1913-1918, when it was abolished.

The president of the upper house is in the next picture:

The English wikipedia entry is obviously mistaken, Hans Axel Tammo Graf von Schwerin-Löwitz (short: Hans Graf von Schwerin) is the correct name, see e.g. www.deutsche-biographie.de/xsfz120439.html de.academic.ru/dic.nsf/dewiki/577408 home.foni.net/~adelsforschung/reichss.htm biblioteca.universia.net/html_bura/ficha/params/title/auf...

Thanks. I made that change and a few others in the English Wikipedia entry, but it still needs a lot of work. Some of it reads like a translation of a translation.

Prussian-born Nernst (1864-1941) won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (1920): nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/chemistry/laureates/1920/nern... Here he is as an older man:
Given the later portrait, it seems unlikely this image was made in 1941. -

Thank you for taking the time to comment on our photo! Since these photos were acquired from various print dealers by our donor, Bern Dibner, in the 1940’s, our records for the collection are a bit sparse. Your comments have been extremely valuable in helping us update information for this image. Since the exact date of this image is still unknown, we've changed the date to read "Prior to 1941".
