These are Rudge-Whitworth 'path racing' bicycles, with a raised hand on the head-badge!
Also note the chrome(nickel?)-plated, sloping fork-crown!!

Thanks, Carol. They look as if they mean business. I have doubts as to whether it's the same Tyler Challenge Cup, but Freeman's Aug 27 1895 describes a splendid specimen of the silversmith's art donated by Tyler & Son "the world-famed boot people"

Other red herrings: a Tyler Cup for GAA in Wexford, another Tyler Cup for something horsey again in Wexford, and another horsey Tyler Cup but in Armagh. All 1890s.

There appears to be no 'hand' logo on the chainwheel of the Rudge-Whitworth bicycle on the left, but it appears on the pair of small trophies! Definitely something funny about their faces, the eyes especially!? There was a Rudge-Whitworth dealership at 1, Stephen's Green North, in Dublin.

Actually, the Rudge-Whitworth dealership in Waterford was in Henrietta Street!!

National Library of Ireland on The Commons There was a motorcyle/bicycle dealer called W.F.Peare in Henrietta Street, who appeared to occupy this premises- www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland/5735786427/ , as shown in your photostream, shortly after your bicycle photos were taken! They sold other makes of bicycles than Rudge-Whitworth, though! Could it be possible that Mr. Keane is in fact Mr. Peare!?
