The aircraft in the foreground had a very interesting history. As per the Logbook Magazine Database: www.logbookmag.com/databases/articles.asp?ID=93&CatID=47 "NC90905, Douglas DC-4 (Douglas C-54 Skymaster), Clipper Munich, notes: c/n 27344, originally delivered to the U. S. Army Air Force as a Douglas C-54E-15-DO Skymaster, Serial Number 44-9118, on 8 May 1945. After being transferred to the Reconstruction Finance Corporation it was purchased by American Overseas Airlines on 24 November 1945, and named Flagship Glasgow and later renamed Flagship Berlin. It later went to Pan Am on 25 September 1950, when Pan Am bought American Overseas Airlines. It was first named Clipper Munich, then Clipper Frankfurt and finally Clipper Mermaid. The C-54E was then sold to an aircraft broker before being purchased by the Spanish military, registered T.4-11. It eventually crashed on 9 August 1976, near Vejer de la Frontera, Cadiz, Spain."
