Capt. W.T. Turner (LOC)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Thomas_Turner William Thomas Turner (October 23, 1856 - June 23, 1933) was the Captain of the RMS Lusitania when it was sunk by a German torpedo in May 1915.

this could also be taken when he captained the Aquitania on her maiden voyage On 30 May 1914. As Commodore for Cunard, he also captained Mauretania and Lusitania on their maiden voyages. The air intakes behind him could be the Aquitania, or possibly Lusitania after her original caps had been torn off by storms and replaced with this more conventional style later in her career. (Or Mauretania at any time) However their apparent closeness most resembles the pair aside Aquitania's #1 funnel. see the photo:

I scanned the negative for a date but can't discern one.

Thanks Wystan for the date, which probably puts Captain Turner on board the Aquitania. Thank you nudecowboy for the photo of the Aquitania model. We will include additional information about Captain Turner to the description when we update.
