Trekschuiten waren voor passagiers. Dit lijkt mij gewoon een klein vrachtschip.

@Arendje2008, Vrachtschepen, met name voor turf, werden ook getrokken. Tenminste over de kanalen en diepen in Groningerland. Schippers met geld hadden of huurden er een paard voor, of namen een scheepsjager met of zonder paard in dienst, maar je had ook armere schippers, wier vrouw meestal 'in de zeel' ging, terwijl ze zelf aan het roer bleven staan. In het geval van bovenstaande plaat hangen beide seksen dus in de zeel, wat dus wel iets emancipatoirs heeft.
