Shell oil tanker TIGA refuelling a passenger liner, possibly RMS MOLDAVIA or MONGOLIA

    The passenger liner is either the Moldavia or the Mongolia. It's definitely pre-1930 (Moldavia received a dummy second funnel during this time). There's also a strong chance this photo is pre-1928 because after that time the white stripe along the hull was moved a deck lower. For reference, see p154 of Malcolm Gordon's book 'From Chusan to Sea Princess'. Cheers, Phill
