They certainly had spruced it up by the time I visited Ye Olde Crusty Cellar in the late 60s/early 70s if that is so. Here is a pic from the State Library of NSW with Leo Buring who owned the Cellars [acms.sl.nsw.gov.au/item/itemLarge.aspx?itemID=43925]

I'm not convinced that man on the right is even part of the crew. But the man on the left must be the cook, Hohn Winter! Third photo in the NAA file. So beachcomber australia, you have your answer to why this photo might have been taken! :) Also to that second article quasymody, oh my!!
