Nice photo. Sir Harry was Governor of NSW, not Governor-General. His ADC, seen at right, fromm1903 to 1909 was Leslie (later Sir Leslie) Orme Wilson. Sir Leslie later became Governor of Bombay and later still Governor of Queensland. Sir Harry appears with his daughter Rita who took over her mother's duties after her Lady Rawson's 1905 death.

She is mentioned a few times in the newspapers nla.gov.au/nla.news-article72211037 Here is a link to a notice published in the Sydney Morning Herald in 1938, after she died. nla.gov.au/nla.news-article17431034 Thanks again for your help, we have now updated our database records.

Captain Francis Harrison Smith (see here on the left) was the NSW Governor's Private Secretary in the period 1904-08. During this time he was evidently on leave from the Royal Navy. He's usually referred to in the various newspaper items as 'Mr Harrison Smith'...which might well have been in accordance with protocol...I gather he was a Paymaster Captain and that he was in the 'secretarial' branch of the Royal Navy. Later in his career he was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral and knighted (HMS Pinafore sequel). Chester Platt operated a drugstore in Ludlowville and later Ithaca, New York. He became successively proprietor of the ITHACA DEMOCRAT, the BATAVIA TIMES, and the Madison WISCONSIN LEADER. He served as secretary to New York Governor William Sulzer, and was a prominent figure in Democratic state and national politics from 1910 to 1920.
