William G. Peel (d. 1916), born in India, son of an English army captain, first Bishop of the Diocese of Mombasa. In 1913-1914, he was involved in the Kikuyu Controversy, in which a conference and communion service held with Scots Church missionaries in British East Africa raised concerns of schism. newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/2092844
