German three corps in all attacked Siberian 5th corps (Sidorin) located in the far south on the left wing of 1st army. Meanwhile, two third of Siberian 5th were taken prisoners. But Ruzski did not think it serious, but rather of a feint ascribing this failure to the weakness of second line corps." From what this site says the Russians regrouped in Lodz at one point and captured large numbers of Germans, but tenacity of the German Reserves led to an escape and more bitter fighting (in bitter cold), with the Germans victorious and the Russians retreating from Lodz in late November to behind the Vistula river.
