There is a reference to an athlete, H.H. Hsieh of Wisconsin, competing in a track meet at the Midwestern Conference of the Chinese Student Association in the November, 1917 number of the Chinese Students Monthly: " The track meet was held on Camp Randall on the afternoon of September 3. The Wisconsin Chinese Students Club won the Club championship with a total record of 55 points Mr WK Chang of Chicago won the individual championship with a record of 23 points while Mr HH Hsieh of Wisconsin won the second place with 21 points." The Aberdeen weekly., July 04, 1919, Image 3 published a croped version of this photo with the caption: "CHINAMAN GREAT SPRINTER - Hsuch Hai Hsieh, one of the best men on the track team of the University of Wisconsin, has been the highest individual point winner in two recent big meets.
