This is very interesting, thank you for posting this. My father spoke of seeing the King & Queen when he was a boy. He was referring to the 1939 visit during the Royal Tour, saying that the school children were taken to the Belleville fairgrounds to see the King & Queen. Do you know of any newsclippings about their visit to Belleville? Thank you.

If I am not mistaken, the destroyer in the background looks to be an ex RN V&W class destroyer, with the pennant number D 31. In that case it might be HMAS Voyager (D 31). Serving in the RAN from Dec 1933 until Apr '36. Recommissioned in April '38 and lost during the war. It might help narrowing down the respective vessel's times together.
