As a wildlife ranger for more than sixteen years over here in the UK and a one time squad leader in a Royal Marines Commando Reconnaissance Troop, I can totally connect with these wonderful images and I thank you for making them available for public view on Flickr. Meanwhile I wish you all well and that everything goes exactly according to plan with any and all of Oregon's 150th anniversary celebrations. It must be a wonderful place to live and work.

Hello to all of you across the ocean! I find I am enchanted with these images over and over again... I have the same experience with some of the Celilo Falls images we'll be releasing in a couple of weeks, as well as some of the logging photos of northwest Oregon taken by John Fletcher Ford.

A very subdued picture-wonder what was going through the soldier's minds in that moment in time-and the kids watching, just the whole scene-just a great pic!

Reminds me of an hotel in Naas on the left hand side as you enter from the Dublin Road. The building looks similar but the main similarity is the creeper and that would not be too reliable.
