    1912 was the centennial of the official charter for "Rochesterville", the forerunner to the City of Rochester, which received its charter in 1834, hence the 1934 Centennial of the "City". See the City Timeline on City of Rochester website.

    Well, it says the Village of Rochesterville was incorporated In March 1817 but the first permanent settler was in 1812 so I get your point: They have multiple opportunities to celebrate a "centennial" and this is likely 1912.
