I have a letter written on letterhead stationary dated 1926 written by a salesman that worked for the company I am retired from. It sais "THE POWERS HOTEL" ROCHESTER, N.Y. In smaller type it also sais J. Messner, President and Manager. also "COMFORT, CONVENIENCE, COURTESY.

The Powers Hotel on the corner of Plymouth and Main was a place of style & prestige, I lived in the Powers Hotel in 1958, it served as housing for first years students of Rochester Institute of Technology, a fellow student by the name of Benware was dismissed for he was found to be the cause of firecrackers tossed in the lobby. The second year, I resided at the "Old Brick Church", economical housing for RIT students. Rochester New York was a magnificent specimen in those days. Felix
