The Signal Cabin is not itself on Albert Quay, it can be seen here on the 25" OSI map. The South City Link Road was built on this old railway. I can tell this is the Signal Cabin in question from this paired photo in the archive: Station from Signal Cabin, Albert Quay, Cork City, Co. Cork As we often find with O'Dea's pictures, this was taken on 19 March 1961, and per wikipedia, Regular passenger services were withdrawn on 1 April 1961

Health and safety regulations wouldn't allow this these days. Then again I guess there aren't too many ships like this get launched in this fashion these days ... certainly not from South Shields anyway.
