Thanks cbellh47, I think you are correct, this is Vicksburg. We'll add that to the description. I have a question for you all. I zoomed in on our TIFF file at hdl.loc.gov/loc.pnp/ggbain.10512 and on the top of the ship on the left, it looks like it says "Lucile". I did a little searching but could find no ship named Lucile that seemed to fit. I did find a ship called Lucile Nowland, that at one time docked at Vicksburg. If anyone can find an image to back that up, or discover another name, we can add that to the record.

Seems likely this is in Ironwood, Michigan, which now has one of the largest ski slides in the Western Hemisphere. According to this article, though, the first jump was built around 1930: hunts-upguide.com/bessemer_copper_peak_ski_flying_hill.html

If this pic was from 1930, it would make it one of the very latest in the Bain collection. Certainly possible. One clue may be this, from significant dates in Ironwood, Mi. history: Feb. 14, 1913 - National Ski Jumping Tournament held on White's Hill north of town. A world record of 169 feet established.
