    This was later the boat ramp for Officers stationed at NAS Corpus Christi. The Hangar was a "boat barn".

    Growing up during World War II, I was struck by the beautiful lines of the Catalina. I daydreamed about having my own some day, and flying to romantic islands. Then I saw one at an airshow, and was surprised at how small it was inside. Spartan, too, like all military aircraft. Still a beautiful sight to the eyes, though.
