reports that "Mme. Frances Alda, soprano, and Tltta Russo, baritone, of the Metropolitan opera, with the Flonzaley quartet, go upon the air next Thursday evening at the second radio concert of
of the Victor Talking Machine company. The concert will be broadcast through station WJZ. and other statlons at the Radio Corporation of America."

Four fiddlers

Jefferies married Arena Mary Massie, a harpist, at Trinity Church of England, Marylebone, on 3 June 1871 and they sailed for Brisbane soon after. He farmed briefly and unsuccessfully near Gatton and made his first professional appearance as a violinist in Brisbane on 1 February 1872 with Henrietta Mallalieu as accompanist. The two later started the long-lived Monday Popular Concerts which introduced new music to Brisbane. In 1876 Jefferies formed a string quartet and, when his children grew up, a family quartet. Olivette Miller was the daughter of vaudvillian Flournoy Eakin Miller (1887-1971), and niece of producer Irvin Colloden Miller (1884-1975). She was married to dancer Freddy Gordon in the 1940s (divorce ca. 1952?), comedian Bert Gibson in the 1950s, and was called Olivette Miller Darby in the 1970s, but later went by Olivette Miller-Briggs, when she was married to tap dancer Bunny Briggs (b. 1922).
