Thanks for the address. I like to look them up on Google Earth. Roanmore Park empties into a roundabout; probably the "crescent"? But the homes were probably different, and changed now.

Not sure, Richard, that this house was on Roanmore. May have been another location, with the photo being ordered by Miss Power who lived in Roanmore OR this house may have been demolished in the interim period. Couldn't find anything like it on Google Maps. It'd be great if any Waterford peeps could add more information... p.s. check out Google Maps for the Patrick Street photo uploaded next. The entrance to McDonalds cuts through the beautiful Woodford Bourne sign

This photo was taken at the entrance to the presentation convent in Slievekeale Waterford, a building beautifully designed by AWB Pugin and now in use as a medical centre. Its worth going to see!

Holy Smoke! Designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin (1812–1852). "Former Presentation Convent, Slievekeale Road. Designed 1841, constructed 1842-63. Some fittings and furnishings after 1852 by Edward Welby Pugin. Traditional monastic layout around a quadrangular cloister. Some minor modifications but essentially intact, including rood screen. Conversion of the convent (a protected structure) to a health centre by Waterford firm DHB Architects completed in May 2009." From - www.puginfoundation.org/irish_buildings/ (down the page a little). The Rood Screen must be behind the photographer.
