Mudgee Post Office

Did Mrs Elizabeth Mary Adams nee Slack own this?
  • Eunice Curran said:
Mrs Adams ran a Post Office Hotel in Mudgee in 1927, do you have anything on this hotel? I wish to know more as it may be where my grandparents met. My mother was adopted by Mr Montford and Mary Elizabeth Adams in 1929. Mary Adams was born in Newcastle and Mr Adams died 1935 in Randwick where my mother grew up with the Adams.

Eunice Curran We hold this record series which might be of interest: NRS 9522, Card index to publicans licences, c.1920-37. The cards show - for each hotel - brief information including electorate, licensing district, sign (name), situation, licensing history, name of licensee and information such as orders and repairs concerning compliance with the licensing laws. Our information leaflet Archives In Brief 61 - Publicans' licenses would be a good starting point for you to find more information and includes a link to the above record series.
