That's Mrs. John Sherwin Crosby (the former Nellie Fassett), founder and president of the Women's Democratic Club of New York City, president of the Woman's National Democratic League--she gave a victory breakfast at the Waldorf-Astoria to congratulate the incoming first lady, Mrs. Wilson, and her daughters. uic.edu/orgs/cwluherstory/jofreeman/polhistory/1912.htm

Oh ... Miss Hopkins... she wasn't married to a congressman, so perhaps she was, at the time, 'lesser known' to the caption writer ;) She was identified in a different WNDL photo here. Grace Porter Hopkins (b.1873), daughter of John Warren and Helen M. (Stoddard) Porter, married Randolph D. Hopkins in1893. Like the other five women in the above photograph, she was a founding Director of the Woman's National Democratic League, Inc., in 1912. She was Vice President, D.C. Federation of Woman's Clubs; Vice President, Woman's National Press Association; Secretary Woman's National Democratic League and Officer, Louisa Adams Chapter D.A.R. Hopkins was co-editor of the popular The Economy Administration Cook Book in 1913 -- a collection of recipes that were delicious and submitted by the Wives of Senators, Congressmen and other notable people. It was put together to give a collection of wholesome economical recipes, as stated in the book “The subject of the high cost of living is one that is uppermost in the minds of the people of the present day universally.” Mrs. Hopkins was also a Washington correspondent for a syndicate of newspapers. Pixel Wrangler Oh good! I love when all the members of a group photo can be accounted for. Wonderful to have this last piece.
