Great story of Bobby Pearce, he was of course one of rowings great legends. The father of the late Pricess Grace of Monaco also ran foul of the same rule at Henley Royal Regatta. In fact he won the race but he had been a builder and on that basis he was disqualified. Years later his son then Olympic champion also won the race and refused to take the trophy as they had denied it to his father. Thankfully all that nonsense is gone now (or is it???)

Swordscookie Thank you for your comment, it is strange to think such a champion was not qualified to compete based on social rather than physical attributes!
