    Miss Kathryn N. Steele, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Steele, was a debutante in 1913, introduced at a dance in Westbury, Long Island, attended by over 300 guests. She married Francis Skiddy Von Stade Sr. (1884-1967), and they had at least four children (Dolly, Skiddy Jr., Frederick, and Charles). Skiddy Sr. was a polo player. Opera singer Frederica Von Stade is Kathryn Steele's granddaughter. The woman next to her could be an older sister, she had two: Nancy Steele Milburn and Eleanor, who was married to a French count.
