  That's my grandfather - Roy Byron Aler (1887-1975) who was the carrier for RFD 1 out of Harbor Springs, MI for about 45 years starting in 1912. The date on the license plate is 1914. I have some similar photos and related postings at: picasaweb.google.com/donorgan/ReSmithsonian#

  My dad worked here for about 15 to 20 yrs. He was hurt in an explosion that occurred on Memorial Day, 1972. Does anyone remember or have any info on that explosion? Thanks.
