Train En Route to Marlboro New Hampshire

I am wondering where this image was taken. It is not of the correct design to be of the trestle that was just to the west of Marlboro. Also, the number of cars would not be typical of the size of the locomotive on that branch line because of the grades.
  • Keene Public Library and the Historical Society of Cheshire County said:
We have no way of verifying the information that was with this photo. Perhaps someone will recognize the trestle someday and let us know its exact location.
  • Thomas Evans said:
This is almost certainly taken on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. The locomotive is a type used extensively by the B&O and almost no one else. I've seen this photo elsewhere but don't know where the bridge is.

I think I've found it at +42.91767,-72.21723. Having a hard time linking some information I found on Google Reviews but, maybe you can see these images that seem to show the stone piers. I hope to get out there soon - I'm mapping out old NH rail alignments as I review and map them at my website Trailspotting.com.

That's the correct coordinates, though I agree that the photo is not correct for that trestle. I grew up in Marlborough NH and used to walk the old grade. The foundations for the trestle are still there but they are not the same stone foundations as the ones on this photo.
