    You see this type of fence in a lot of early 20th century pictures; can you tell me more about it? What's good about the design? What kind of wood was it usually made out of? What tools did one need to make it? Was it kind of a class marker, a poor farmer's vs. a wealthier farmer's fence? Could one put it up alone, or would one need neighbors' help? Thanks!
