query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=950DE0D7133CE633A... suggests it was dynamite. Albert von Spreckelsen, a contractor who employed non-union labor, testified that on October 25, 1909, several buildings in Indianapolis associated with him suffered explosions. The public library was one of them. Another is shown at www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/2163453880/ which has more about the ironworkers' "dynamite campaign" in a comment.

It is amazing what scrap metal can be used for. There are so many different things that can be made with metal. If you heat it up you can shape it into pretty much anything. Metal is like an unbeatable material. Jacob Allen | www.normansscrapmetal.com.au/services

This is such a net sculpture made from scrap metal. A friend of mine likes to do this kind of art. He is always asking friends for scrap metal. I bet there is a place where he could go get scrap metal. I will help him do some research. Emily Smith | www.bigdaddyscrap.com
