  Peter ( Pete) de Paolo en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_DePaolo "Pete DePaolo (April 6, 1898 – November 26, 1980) was an American race car driver who won the 1925 Indianapolis 500." According to a 1980 obituary www.newspapers.com/article/78578276/peter-depaolo-novembe... his wife was Sally and his son was Tommy. According to www.findagrave.com/memorial/8652570/evelyn-a-depaolo his wife was Evelyn A. "Sally" Lewis DePaolo. Her gravestone uses "Sally." See also www.findagrave.com/memorial/8560605/peter-depaolo

  This is a photo of driver Peter Alberts in the 1937 "O'Day Offy" racer. The car was built by M.E. "Hank" O'Day of Charleston, Illinois in 1937 to run a 270 cubic inch Offenhauser engine. Peter Alberts was hired to drive the car, and this photo was taken May 8, 1938 at "Jungle Park" speedway at Bloomingdale, Indiana. The car still survives and is currently being restored in Texas as of 2022.

  Maybe the modern and expensive fuels in California are not an ideal solution. Maybe auto emission controls could be better. These photos show how air quality used to look in my memories of southern California. I believe they have a good result.
  
  The cars match the suggestion that this is a 1971 race. Your comments are welcomed.
