    A Miss Beatrice Williams, 24, of Great Britain, was among the survivors of the Lusitania: www.rmslusitania.info/people/lusitania-survivors/ Mr. George Benjamin Lane, 26, was the only Lane listed among the survivors. www.rmslusitania.info/people/second-cabin/george-lane/ Lane and Williams seem to have been part of a Welsh musical group, the Gwent Royal Welsh Singers, returning to Wales on the Lusitania. Found this about her experience in the sinking: "Preston-Smith was with Beatrice Williams and they ran back downstairs to get lifejackets. Miss Williams was placed in a boat and told to get out again. "The ship was listing so heavily," she said, "that I had to jump.     I think you are right about G.B. Lane. A detailed account of the actions of the Gwent Choir after the sinking is in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle of May 30, 1915 . I'm not sure Williams was in the choir, but instead escaped with Lane, who was. She isn't mentioned in the account: "Dewi Michael, the director of the singers, was one of those who bound the floating pieces of wreckage and capsized boats together into a makeshift raft, by which many were saved. The other singers who managed to keep near him and help build the raft were G. B. Lane.
