That is the USS Prairie (AD-5) captured in this photo along with the Curtiss NC-1 at Trepassey Bay, Newfoundland in May 15-16, 1919. (It should also be noted that the photo is reversed - as evidenced by the backwards "1" on the hull of NC-1.)
