  Leopold withdrew from the Anglo-French alliance after the Munich debacle. Somehow he thought he could remain independent unallied while Germany and the Allies fought it out. He was as foolish as Polish Colonel Beck who thought he could ally himself with Germany!! Foolish, certainly.
