The caption written on the photograph says "500-mile race, Indianapolis" -- was it not being called the "Indianapolis 500" yet?

You make a good point, Lu, thank you. The present title is better placed with the tags. We will revise the title to match the caption next time we update the record. Additionally, the caption provides the exact date.

More than I expected :) I really didn't know! I do suspect it's tough to find the point at which tag/etc. info is narrow enough to be accurate but still broad enough to be searchable.

Depalma & his mechanic led the 1912 Indy 500 for 196 of it's 200 laps. Their Mercedes cracked a piston on the fourth turn of the final lap.
