    One can see his ribs and hip bones too clearly - he is either elderly with an eating problem or not fed well. Wouldn't surprise me if this was one deeply depressed animal.

    I hope that this is an archival shot and not one just done in an old technique. I really hate to think that there are zoos around which would still house animals in this manner. This old boy looks decidedly depressed.

    There are at least 2 tie wearers among the workmen. The boss has a fine leather coat, that plank was no doubt put down for him, but the rolled up trousers indicate that he was taking no chances!

    Fairly uncommon in Ireland but the gentleman in question is probably Herr something or other from Germany as this was their great project and leather coats were more common there!

    This picture certainly gives pause for thought. For instance, is this a FOOD inspection? Or are the men lining up to complain about the food with statements such 'I'm not eating THIS s...t!" The fellow standing with his fist on his waist behind the chap in the leather coat looks like a tough forman who is going to give them something to complain ABOUT afterwards, he is in the kind of stance and with the look on his face that one would see on a sergeants face. Then again, it is very early in the morning here in New Zealand, brain is sluggish, imagination is non existant and for all I know they are lining up to say something like " Thank you for the delightfull breakfast sir, may we have more and perhaps some to take home?" .

    FrigateRN It could be a food inspection, Herr Ingenieur is making sure the workers' victuals are suited to the task! And the foreman is making sure everybody is appreciating the food!
