  I believe that "PHOTO BY WYNDHAM" on the margin refers to Albert Wyndham. Wyndham was a Parisian studio photographer who specialized in "French Postcards." Google that at your own risk, vintage NSFW. Some of LOC's New York Times of the period credit him by full name.
