Williamsburg Bridge in New York City Facing Towards Manhattan ... 07/1974

  • Stuart Johnson said:
Based on the location of the Empire State Building in the background this can't be the Williamsburg Bridge as it is located south of 34th Street. This would be the 59th Street-Queensboro Bridge. The twin buildings in front of the Empire State Building are at 49th Street and First Avenue.

Stu_Jo is correct, I agree. I am a NYC professional location scout, it is my job to know these things!

The New York State Department of Education Building in Albany was dedicated on October 17, 1912, and was the work of architect Henry Hornbostel. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. And, yes, it does look rather like a giant coffin— but then, isn't the educational bureaucracy charged with burying childhood's hopes and dreams?
