Noblett's sweet shop was around in 1916 - it was occupied by the rebels.

According to this discussion forum Thom's directory has Nobletts there from 1922 through to 1956 and Laird's from 1922 through to 1941 (but not 1956) - presume these records aren't exhaustive though and they may have both been there earlier than that.

In 1886, Armagh had seventeen pillar and wall boxes. Every day the Post Office dealt with between 8000 and 9000 letters, about 250 parcels, 250-300 telegrams, as well as all the other services it performed for 22 hours a day.
