In 1886, Armagh had seventeen pillar and wall boxes. Every day the Post Office dealt with between 8000 and 9000 letters, about 250 parcels, 250-300 telegrams, as well as all the other services it performed for 22 hours a day. Noblett's sweet shop was around in 1916 - it was occupied by the rebels.

According to this discussion forum Thom's directory has Nobletts there from 1922 through to 1956 and Laird's from 1922 through to 1941 (but not 1956) - presume these records aren't exhaustive though and they may have both been there earlier than that.
